Recorders Grade 5/6
Rooms 7, 16, and 17 have been working hard at Recorders and are looking forward to sharing their progress during Student Led Conferences.
The students are demonstrating skills on the Recorder. They are learning to play with good tone, developing the ability to read Music, and reading instrumental scores for melody instruments.
All the previous Music work we have done with rhythm, note reading, steady beat and tempo all come together when we play Recorders!
LBS Goes to the Opera!
We are excited to go to the Opera on Tuesday March 5 at 9 am!
Students have been learning about what an Opera is, and the different voice categories that they will hear while they are watching.

The grade ones and twos have been been learning about the story and the Music of Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev. They have been distinguishing among the sounds of common Musical Instruments, and identifying which instrument represents each character in the story.
Ask your student which instruments they will hear in Peter and the Wolf and what character they represent!
